BOG JUMPER
Made for quiet water and upward strikes.
The Bog Jumper is a 55 mm floating topwater frog designed for backwaters and calm pockets where fish feed upward from below. Presented slowly on the surface, it imitates a frog resting or moving across still water and draws strikes from fish holding just beneath the surface.
This is a slow-water lure — subtle movement gets the bite.
Why It Works
In calm water, fish have time to inspect prey before committing. Rather than chasing, they rise vertically and strike from underneath.
The Bog Jumper targets those fish.
Its surface profile sits naturally on the water, allowing fish to approach from below and strike upward confidently. Pauses give predators time to position beneath the lure before committing.
Many strikes happen directly beneath the lure rather than from behind.
Designed For Structure
Work it along:
• backwaters
• calm pockets
• shallow edges
• still creek pools
• reed-lined banks
• quiet shoreline margins
A built-in hook magnet holds the hooks close to the body during the retrieve, helping the lure move cleanly across light cover and surface debris. When a fish strikes, the hooks release to set.
Action & Retrieve
The Bog Jumper is designed to be worked with gentle surface disturbance.
How to fish it:
Cast into calm water or shallow edges
Use short pulls of the rod tip
Pause between movements
Let the lure sit still
Repeat slowly
Strikes commonly occur:
• from directly beneath the lure
• during pauses
• immediately after a subtle movement
After the strike, allow the fish a moment before lifting the rod.
Fishing Notes
Best fished in still water and shallow edges where fish rise from below rather than chase across the surface.
Pauses are critical — they allow fish time to line up the strike.
Recommended Leader: 16–20 lb fluorocarbon or braid
Specifications
Length: 55 mm
Type: Floating Topwater Frog
Buoyancy: Floating
Running Depth: Surface
Designed For: Backwaters and calm pockets
Target Species: Australian Bass, Murray Cod, Saratoga
Please note: Colours may vary slightly between lures.
