PAD PROWLER
Designed to travel the edges where fish wait.
The Pad Prowler is a 55 mm floating topwater frog built for fishing weed margins and bank cover. Moving steadily across the surface, it imitates a frog crossing vegetation and draws strikes from fish positioned tight to structure.
This is an edge lure — fish the bank, not the middle.
Why It Works
Fish holding beside reeds and vegetation rarely venture into open water to feed. They wait just inside cover and strike prey passing overhead.
The Pad Prowler targets those fish.
Its surface presentation allows it to move across cover while staying visible from below. A steady retrieve keeps the lure in the strike zone long enough for fish to commit confidently.
Most strikes occur beside structure rather than mid-water.
Designed For Structure
Work it along:
• weed margins
• reed beds
• bank vegetation
• shoreline cover
• lily edges
• shallow banks
A built-in hook magnet holds the hooks against the body while retrieving, helping the lure pass cleanly over vegetation and light cover. When a fish strikes, the hooks release for a clean hook-up.
Action & Retrieve
The Pad Prowler is designed for steady surface movement.
How to fish it:
Cast tight along bank vegetation or reeds
Retrieve steadily across the surface
Pause occasionally near cover
Resume a slow retrieve
Strikes commonly occur:
• beside structure
• at vegetation edges
• during brief pauses
Avoid striking immediately — wait until pressure is felt before lifting the rod.
Fishing Notes
Focus casts along bank cover rather than open water. Fish usually strike from cover positioned beside the lure.
Pausing occasionally helps fish commit fully to the strike.
Recommended Leader: 16–20 lb fluorocarbon or braid
Specifications
Length: 55 mm
Type: Floating Topwater Frog
Buoyancy: Floating
Running Depth: Surface
Designed For: Weed margins and bank cover
Target Species: Australian Bass, Murray Cod, Saratoga
Please note: Colours may vary slightly between lures.
