SUMMER SCREAMER
The bite often comes before the retrieve begins.
The Summer Screamer is a 42 mm floating surface cicada wake-bait designed for fishing beneath overhanging trees and shaded banks. Using an internal ball-bearing rattle to create vibration, it imitates a cicada struggling on the surface and draws fish upward to strike. A slightly transparent body gives the lure a more natural appearance in surface light, helping fish commit confidently.
This is a patience lure — movement is minimal, presence is everything.
Why It Works
During warm months, fish feed heavily on insects falling from trees. They watch the surface and react instantly to a struggling cicada.
The Summer Screamer targets those fish.
Its floating body and subtle vibration create the impression of a trapped insect. The semi-transparent profile blends naturally with the surface glare, appearing more lifelike than a solid-bodied lure. Rather than constant movement, the lure relies on disturbance and sound, encouraging fish to commit from below.
Many strikes occur before the retrieve even begins.
Designed For Structure
Work it along:
• overhanging trees
• shaded banks
• still pockets beside current
• creek edges
• tight shoreline cover
• insect fall zones
The floating body allows the lure to remain on the surface while fish locate it from beneath.
Action & Retrieve
The Summer Screamer is designed to sit naturally on the surface with minimal movement.
How to fish it:
Cast beside shaded banks or overhangs
Allow the rings to disappear
Let the lure sit still
Apply a single gentle twitch
Pause for several seconds
Repeat sparingly
Strikes commonly occur:
• while the lure is stationary
• immediately after the twitch
• as surface ripples fade
Resist the urge to overwork it.
Fishing Notes
Place the lure beside cover and allow it to sit. The ball-bearing rattle produces subtle vibration that imitates a struggling cicada.
Most effective during warm evenings and periods of active insect life.
Recommended Leader: 8–14 lb fluorocarbon

Type: Surface Cicada Wake-bait

Please note: Colours may vary slightly between lures.
