WETLAND RAIDER
Built for fish hiding where other lures can’t go.
The Wetland Raider is a 55 mm floating topwater frog designed for fishing the edges of cover and flooded banks. Presented on the surface and retrieved slowly, it imitates a frog moving across vegetation and draws strikes from fish holding tight to structure.
This is a close-cover lure — the tighter to the bank, the better it works.
Why It Works
Predatory fish sitting in heavy cover rarely leave safety to chase prey in open water. Instead, they wait beside vegetation and ambush food moving overhead.
The Wetland Raider targets those fish.
Its surface presentation keeps it above weed and structure while maintaining a visible profile. Moving slowly across the top, it gives fish time to track and strike confidently from cover.
Most bites occur beside the bank, not in open water.
Designed For Structure
Work it along:
• weed edges
• flooded banks
• timber pockets
• shaded margins
• lily edges
• shoreline vegetation
A built-in hook magnet holds the hooks tight to the body while retrieving, helping the lure slip over weed and timber. When a fish strikes, pressure releases the hooks so they set cleanly.
Action & Retrieve
The Wetland Raider is designed to move steadily across the surface.
How to fish it:
Cast tight to the bank or cover
Retrieve slowly across the surface
Keep the lure moving steadily
If a fish boils behind it, pause briefly
Resume a slow retrieve
Strikes commonly occur:
• beside cover
• at the edge of vegetation
• immediately after a short pause
Avoid fast retrieves — slow movement draws the strike.
Fishing Notes
Fish along weed edges, timber pockets and shaded margins rather than open water. Bass typically strike from cover positioned beside the bank.
If a fish follows or boils behind the lure, pause momentarily to allow it to commit.
Recommended Leader: 16–20 lb fluorocarbon or braid
Specifications
Length: 55 mm
Type: Floating Topwater Frog
Buoyancy: Floating
Running Depth: Surface
Designed For: Edges of cover and flooded banks
Target Species: Australian Bass, Murray Cod, Saratoga
Please note: Colours may vary slightly between lures.
